International Baccalaureate (IB)

Welcome to the FLA IB page. At FLA, we have been working since 2016 to implement the programmes of IB at our school. The Primary Years Programme (PYP) is offered for grades K-5. We became an authorized PYP school in 2019. The Middle Years Programme is for Middle School students in Grades 6, 7 and 8. We are currently in the candidacy phase of implementation, with the goal of applying for authorization in the Fall of 2021. IB is a rigorous, inquiry approach to education. It focuses on developing students who have agency (voice, choice and ownership) in the classroom. Foreign Language Academy is a candidate school* for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme and Middle Years Programme and pursuing authorization as an IB World School.
